This coffee came with the "starter pack" for our Keurig coffeemaker and was near the last of the pack to be sampled. It rated 5/5 and #2 of 25 by Dad and #3 by Mom.
Brewed/reviewed using the largest (automobile tumbler) water size. As stated, a "bold" taste with a heady toasted coffee aroma. This is a medium-body coffee, despite the implication on the packaging that it is a dark coffee (it is not a dark or french roast). Finishes clean with little or no aftertaste and no metallic taste whatsoever. (People's coffee all had metallic finish for us.) This is our winner for "anytime" coffee.
The big winner was Van Houtte single-source coffees. Absolutely perfect, but alas, not carried by Amazon, and twice the price of blended beans.
Timothy's Morning blend was our winner for a lightly toasted coffee. Gentle, smooth, and goes well with afternoon snacks or light lunch.
All of the teas were perfect, but at the price we'll stick with teabags. |
Rich and Smooth

| This is my favorite rich coffee. I prefer a dark coffee, but I don't care for Italian or French roasts. This is very smooth and has none of the acidic bites that some coffees have. This is deep and dark and smooth and rich. Highly recommended. |
Finally, another good full-body K-cup!

| I am writing this as I sip my first Newman's K-cup, and it's fantastic. OK, not the same as a fresh cup from my local Caribou Coffee, but it's bold and dark, full of flavor, and not burnt tasting at all. I have found most of the K-cups I tried to produce dishwater, just not enough coffee in them to make a full-flavor cup. I have been drinking Timothy's Midnight Magic Extra Bold, also very nice--just ran out, and picked up the Newman's at Costco (no time for shipping). It's a very worthy competitor, very very nice. |

| Really good coffee, happy to have learned that Mr. Newman stayed up many late nights creating this special blend. |

Really good cup of coffee

We are new to the Kuerig machine and love it. Still trying the many different varieties of coffee available. This one is a keeper for sure. Newmans Own Special Blend is a great strong cup, even at the largest cup setting. (9.25 OZ on our B60 machine)
No bitter taste, no after taste I've detected. Just a nice strong "wake-up call" for the morning.
I will always have some of this around. |
It's indeed "bold" but good

| Newman's K-cup coffee is indeed bold coffee which I like but it's best if you have cups that can accommodate the largest brewing setting on the Keurig machine. My wife thinks the coffee is too strong but I presume Newman's makes a milder form which I have not been able to find. I also like the idea that the Newman brand supports a charity. |
One of my favorite K-Cups

I have been accused of going over-board on some things and my K-Cup obsession has been no different. I have tried almost every bold K-Cup on the market (really, my kitchen is full of those little boxes). Many of them are very good, and some (like Timothy's Rainforest Espresso) are excellent. Still, for day to day drinking I always go back to this blend. I find it to be smooth and satisfying. I use the second to smallest setting on my Keurig B70 (7 1/4 oz.) and I usually enjoy three to four cups in the morning (I never reuse a K-Cup, but if it works for some people, fine). If I want more or a cup later in the day I switch to the decaf version, also very good.
I miss my Newman's Own so much when I travel that I have started packing a Keurig B30 with me so I can enjoy this coffee on the road. I now also drink Coffee People's Organic blend, as a matter of fact I have grown to prefer it but that does not take away from how good of a coffee this is.

One of My Favorites - Medium to Dark Blend

| This is one of my favorites. It's called an extra bold k-cup, but it is really closer to Medium (when brewed for the 9 oz travel mug setting). Very smooth, mellow flavor. Not acrid at all. I don't drink this every day, but it's a good coffee to cycle through on a regular basis. |
A Good Coffee

| Having tried a number of the different coffees available for k-cups I am often disappointed, Newmans however does not disappoint. Its a good coffee. They are all priced usually pretty similiar but Newmans is clearly a better blend than many others. If your getting K-Cups and you want a good coffee, not a bunch of different flavors just good coffee, get Newmans Own. |

| I take my coffee without sugar. The bitter after-taste of this blend is very noticeable. |
